We wanted to try out some of our ideas on stage before the workshop. At that time, we were working on our third workshop, “Dancing with Drawing.” During rehearsals, we collected funny captions from Bogi’s drawings, like “Wolf! You are a star!” or “Collect the honey and run!”. After that, we danced a story based on these titles, while also experimenting with how to capture the essence of a drawing and how to draw the essence of a dance.
We saw an opportunity to bring a short piece to this dance event, where the first half of the show consisted of choreographed pieces and “blind date” improvisations. The second half was a structured but fairly free improvisation where the audience could join in and dance too.
We applied to this show with a piece where Bogi had previously drawn a huge picture in the space, reflecting her impressions and current feelings. Then, we stuck this image to the wall behind us, and Attila improvised to that drawing. During the dance, Bogi also drew what she saw and created another picture. We used this new drawing just like the previous one, so the second dance was truly based on the impressions and atmosphere we felt around us. This way, our piece was authentic and true to ourselves.

After our dance, we relaxed and participated in the second part as well. At one point, they invited three people into the performance space, and Bogi went up on stage. However, the other two participants turned out to be musicians, so Bogi had to dance a solo piece completely on the spot.
We made a lot of great memories that night and received feedback that what we are researching and working on truly has value and brings joy to the people around us.
